The David Doig Foundation is delighted to announce that it will re-fund the following education and skills initiatives for 2019/20 -

  • Cornerstone
  • PEEK (Possibilities for Each and Every Kid)
  • Dunedin School
  • Move On
  • Positive Help
  • Sustainable Communities Initiative
  • Canine Concern
  • Denis Law Legacy Trust
  • Scottish Traditional Skills Centre

Read about the previous successes of the above beneficiaries here on the website.

It will also continue to fund the David Doig STEM Scholarship at Edinburgh College for which applicants will be interviewed in November and invited to follow in the very successful footsteps of Ladislav Horvath, the STEM scholar of 2018/19.

The Foundation is also delighted that it will fund, for the first time, Edinburgh College's Student Group Grant Programme which aims to support around 90 students.  This will help these students to develop employability skills, enhance life skills, promote positive mental wellbeing, overcome poverty of ambition, build confidence, resilience and broaden students' horizons.  This money will enable a group of students to have an additional learning experience related to their course, but outwith the core requirements of their curriculum.   The students must match-fund by 50%, providing a good developmental learning experience from the outset.  Watch this space to see what projects are undertaken and successful outcomes thereafter!
