New Awards Announced for 2022

I am delighted that we are back on track post-COVID and able to announce the new beneficiaries of funding from the David Doig Foundation for 2022.  These are

YouthLink Scotland - in an exciting first for the David Doig Foundation, this 2-year award in conjunction with other national youth organisations, specialist charities and local natural heritage organisations will support their new Natural Leaders Programme bringing many opportunities for young people to life in the areas of natural heritage, animal conservation and protecting local greenspace.

North West Highlands Geopark - to work with local schools and enable them to encourage an interest in the future development, training and employment opportunities within their unique geological surroundings and connect with the natural environment in order to understand, sustain and protect it.

OutLET: Play Resource - to improve health and wellbeing and build resilient, confident young people in Hamilton through their Outdoor Alternative Education project which will lead to them achieving a Forest and Outdoor Learning Award, a recognised SCQF qualification.

Sustainable Communities Initiative - to continue to support the excellent work of this organisation with their existing teenage group and assist them in making good life choices, paths and careers and potentially offer apprenticeships in traditional skills as a new opportunity.

Connect Community Trust - to support their Connect & Aspire project which will provide work placement experiences, skills and transferable skills development, training and SCQF awards.  The young people will also be given the opportunity to develop ideas around an issue that is passionate to them and to present on this.

Denis Law Legacy Trust - the Foundation continues to support the excellent work of this wonderful organisation by helping to fund a new Streetsport Assistant aiming to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing among the young people of Aberdeen in order to vastly improve their employability and further education outlooks and potential.
